Social Media Reaction Many shoppers and sellers are expressing on platforms saying Vinted listings now show an altered size classification compared to what was initially listed because of the remapping. The platform stated the updated approach better aligns with similar services. It has advised users to review their products and update the measurements by hand where appropriate, causing user dissatisfaction. Measurement Approach Modifications Earlier, the sizes had both a single numeric size and a letter, like S/8 or M/10. The new system has a letter and a range like S/UK 8-10. With some products, the size labels have been reassigned - such as a large size was formerly size 12 but is now a UK 16-18. Member Experiences A fashion influencer, who creates plus-size fashion videos, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. Another user, located in Scotland, explained products she uploaded with size 14 tags were appearing on the platform as larger sizing 20-22. "If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they will likely be quite upset," she stated. Necessary Adjustments Charlotte Lunn, located in England, said she had been left angered by the change as she had to manually change the sizes on "every single listing". "This situation is especially annoying, because of my ongoing medical condition and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she stated. Platform Context The app has more than 100 million members, comprising 18 million UK members. It has become a favored option versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time when a surprising modification on the platform has faced criticism: last year, Vinted reversed a change to its shipping options after backlash from users.
